Adult Performance Classes

These classes offer year round technical instruction specifically designed for the adult student, in various levels of difficulty. Beginner level classes for those who have never danced before, intermediate level for those our returning dancers after a period of inactivity and advanced levels for our continuing students. Adults are encouraged, however not required, to dance in our yearly recital.

Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Hip Hop, Irish (1 hour)

Adult Burlesque (1 hour – 21 years+)

Showcase your inner showgirl with a fun alternative or addition to your current fitness workout. This class allows women to celebrate themselves through the natural and playful theatrical dance style of “tease”. This class aims to increase strength, stamina, coordination, flexibility, fluidity and feminine grace. The sexiest part of a woman is her confidence. Strut, bump and grind to build physical and social confidence through movement that makes you feel fabulous in a positive and safe environment.

Mother & Child Classes (1 hour)

These classes are designed for the Mother/Daughter or Mother/Son pair looking for some special work-out time together. Classes are offered in jazz and tap with levels based upon enrollment. Dancers both participate in the same class and learn choreography to be performed together in our annual recital. It is a great moment to explore the creative and physical aspects of movement together while letting your child see first hand the importance you place on dance.

Ballroom (1 hour)

These classes offer individuals and couples a friendly, relaxed environment in which they can have fun while learning technical dance movement and enjoying the artistic side of partner dancing. Confidence is acquired when men learn to move with their partner and women learn to respond to their partner’s lead. Become prepared to participate fully in all of your future social situations. International Style has 5 ‘Standard’ and 5 ‘Latin’ dances. The Standard dances are Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Quickstep and Viennese Waltz. The Latin dances are Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, Samba and Paso Doble. Each month an exiting new series.

Adult Non-Performance Classes

Ballet Stretch (1 hour)

This class uses basic ballet technique as a way to tone and strengthen. Deep stretching follows the barre work to increase flexibility and to complete your workout. (ballet shoes)

Yoga (1 hour)

This class is designed for the beginner to advanced adult student. Class consists of a challenging yet flowing sequence of postures intended at opening the heard and body while calming and focusing the mind. Emphasis is on increasing strength and flexibility by connecting the breath to the movement. Yoga is a personal journey aimed at the integration of body, mind and spirit. (Comfortable clothing, bare feet, bring your own mat)

Dance Fit (1 hour)

Are you ready to get fit? This high energy class combines exercises including cardio, sculpt and simple dance combinations to dance your way to a fit self! Workout clothing is acceptable with tennis shoes. Bring your towel – it’s time to seat!
